The 1789 Project PAC (FEC ID# C00487132) endorses congressional candidates who will uphold the original intent of the United States Constitution. We use a detailed questionnaire as the first step in our candidate vetting process. Next, we examine their history; if they have held elected office we look at their voting record and beyond votes for evidence of strong leadership. We then examine the candidates’ chances of success, and their financial need before making our final decision whether to endorse.
After 1789 Project candidates are elected, we follow their actions in Congress to ensure that they follow through on their pledge.
- What bills are they sponsoring that will return the federal government to adherence to the founders’ original intent for the Constitution?
- Do they vote against bills that are unconstitutional?
- Are they leaders or followers? Voting the right way is not enough; returning our nation to the Constitution will require constant, vigilant leadership.
